How I get ready for school

How I get ready for school…

Getting ready is like part of a human life style. Getting ready for school is a very different story because you wear very appropriate clothing and you have to have the right gear as well.

How I get ready might be different to others but I really don’t care.  The first thing I do when I start to get ready is that I have a nice warm shower.  Then I put on my uniform, after all that I get my socks out from the warmer.  What I do next is, grab my lunch from my mum and if have spare time I will just turn on the TV or hop in the car.

My brother and I always try to convince our mum that we are sick but it never works. Sometimes I say to myself that if I was really sick she might not believe me and that is what gets my brain going. Also when I usually miss breakfast because i’m to worried about how I might come to school late and miss out on an exciting activity.

When I get ready I feel like i’m missing out on my favourite show. I get ready with a lot of help from my mum and I usually get upset that my mum never stops to have a cup of coffee or something. I love my mum and all but I just can’t figure out if she wants me to grow up or not. But I still love her helping me get ready for school.

In conclusion I think that I have some very complicated ways of getting ready and I also think that i’m not the only one, I know that there are others too.

How I want to celebrate my birthday...

On my birthday I hope that I can plan it because it’s always the same thing every year. I love that people try their best to make me happy but it just never works because I always know what we are going to do.

First of all I really want to be with the family because I want them to get along and have a go at- things. There is a slight problem with the family but I just can't tell anybody what it is because it is personal. So if they can be a family for once then that will be great.

Secondly I need to have a sleepover because having my friends over for a sleepover will be awesome. We could all eat sweets such as candy floss, candy canes, popcorn, fizzy drinks and chocolate. My friends and I could also watch movies so that we will get entertained while we eat the sweets.

Moreover I would really like to go on a trip to the Gold-Coast because I heard that it’s not called the Gold-Coast for nothing. Truly I just want to play volleyball on the beach because there will be laughter and fun, also we could go fishing in the ocean.

After all I guess that I would like to see celebrities so that we can have a laugh, sing with each other and ask questions. I want to ask questions because I want to be a singer and to get their advice will be more than what I dreamed for.

In conclusion if I get all these things that I requested than my smile will be so bright that the sun wanted to battle me. I really hope that my birthday will turn out the way I wanted it to be.

How a Toaster Works

A toaster is an electric tool that is used usually for making toast. Also a toaster is something that needs to be plugged in for electricity and it has an automatic timer as well. There is a knob with numbers ,the numbers on the knob means how many minutes needed for the toast to be ready.

The main parts of a toaster is the crumb tray and the crumb tray holds the crumbs that fall from the toast. You need to empty the crumb tray regularly otherwise your toaster won't work and you might throw it out just because a little thing happened. Another main part is the steel rack, the steel rack holds the toast still so that it won’t drop or move around. The last thing you’ll want is a burnt toast and that will be a waste of money if you throw it into the bin. Last of all you need a thermostat, the thermostat activates the temperature when it reaches the right point.

A toaster works by a thick wire that heats up to brown the toast. The thick wire sleeps on the toast and that's how the toast gets brown or black. It also works by a spring that pushes out when the amount of heat that you have chosen has worn off. Then the spring hits the lever and it then pushes both the lever and toast up. There is also a bi metal switch that turns the toaster on and off.

In 2012 there was a toaster made to recognise the toasts colour shades and in 1990 they invented a toaster that can be controlled on the internet. The first electric toaster was made by a Scottish scientist named Alan McManes.

In conclusion I want to say that there are a lot of things about toasters they are not just an electrical device that toasts bread, it’s so much more than what you think. Remember don’t judge a toaster by it’s size always look through the inside first.

Why you need to keep your teeth clean and healthy?

Why do you need to keep your teeth clean and healthy.

There are so many reasons why you need  to keep your teeth clean and healthy.  Brushing and flossing your teeth as well as visiting the dentist regularly should help you to have clean and healthy teeth.

Brushing twice a day helps to keep the cavities and plaque away. Plaque is a germ that makes holes in your teeth. The holes allow other germs to climb into your teeth, which is very bad because it also makes your teeth weak. It’s weakness could be helped if you brush your teeth twice every day, floss it and visit the dentist regularly. Regular brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist at least twice a year makes you have fresh breath and beautiful white sparkling teeth. Sparkling teeth makes your smiles more brighter and you won’t have to worry that you might get a tooth pulled out. If you get a tooth pulled out, it really hurts and you sometimes want to cry,but crying will not bring back another set of teeth for you.  Therefore you need to look after your teeth.

Netball

Netball
WALT: use different conjunctions effectively.

Netball is a sport that is played all over the world and it is also played in the Commonwealth Games.

Netball can be played by both male and female, it is very rare to see men play netball but it does exist. Thousands of people like to play netball because it is an amazing sport.

In netball the average number of players in a team is twelve
but seven players from that twelve goes on and then in the next half of the game the players that haven’t had their turn will then go on.

The rules in netball are, you cannot hold the ball for more than three seconds, you should be one metre away from the person who is holding the ball, no long nails, you can’t move your feet with the ball and also there’s no physical contact.

Physical contact means that you touch the player with the ball when you’re not allowed to, you knock the ball out of their hands, or push the player out of your way to get past them.

The equipment you need for netball is identical uniform for your team, a ball, closed shoes, hair plaited and no jewellery.

Netball is a great sport and remember if you have a chance to play it go for it. Always follow your dreams.

My learning goals for term 2

My learning goals for term 2

In maths I really would like to know my times tables  off by heart. Also I would like to know how to solve division problems. Maths is something I’m not good at, but it’s ok because I know what my goals are in maths and I will always try to achieve them.

My reading goals are; I need to learn how to be able to think beyond the text so I can move to higher levels. I would like to read senior chapter books and learn more new vocabulary.

My writing goals are to learn how to use similes in my stories. Also I am trying very hard to write connectives effectively. I need to put commas, full stops and question marks in the right places at all times.

In spelling I would like to learn how to spell bigger words and also get them all right, even the most easy ones. In spelling I need to work on more difficult words such as spectacular.

If I can achieve these goals for term 2 I will be very happy.

Well Done Heather, with the determination you have, you will certainly achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

All about me

Malo e lelei, I’m Heather and I am a Tongan girl with 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Out of my whole family the person I mostly stick up for is my little brother because he often gets into all sorts of trouble both at home and at school. I go to Glen Innes School and I really love to swimming, but I’m not as good as James or Kuraia because they are very fast.

At school I like to play with my friends because they are nice girls, you will always want to be with them when you are alone. My favourite game is ball-rush but we don’t play it alot because we have to get on with our challenging work at school. My friends are Natalia, Jenascia, Angel, Ketura, Siunipa, Vasa, Limi, Rebecca,Trinity, Tuakana and Kuraia. They are my true friends because they do things together with me.

My favourite movie is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball  2 and my favourite song is Daddys Little Girl by Frankie J. The place I love is Niue because the water there is so fresh and clean. I really love another place called Hawaii,in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

In the future I would love to be a  successful  singer and this will only happen if I make people hear my voice. Then I will have get over my fear and start showing others how talented I am in singing. Thats all about me, I hope you liked it.
