Record your observations and data colour change -

  1. Colour change
  2. Temperature change
  3. Release of gas
  4. It became irreversible
  5. A new substance was formed
Analyse information -
Once the newspaper was on fire it turned into a new substance, ash. The temperature change caused the newspaper to break, turn black, smell and smoke up. The smoke is also a release of gas. As for colour change it turned black.

Science expo

BeFunky Collage.jpg

Today was the science expo for our topic study. I was part of the group that was explaining what was on the table. The class had made projects on pulleys and wheels and axles because our topic study was about simple machines.

My simple machine

IMG_20170815_074824.jpg

For our topic study we were learning about simple machines. We were told to make a toy using one of the two simple machines, pulley or wheel and axle. I chose to make mine with a pulley.  I had a hard time making a toy so I used YouTube to help me with my ideas. Here are the tools I used:

  1. Cardboard
  2. Bottle cap
  3. Chop stick
  4. Water bottle
  5. String

Including the pulleys and wheel and axle there are actually six simple machines, which are:

  1. Gears
  2. Lever
  3. Wedge
  4. Screw
  5. Pulley
  6. Wheel and axle

Transport in Glen Innes

For our inquiry topic we were looking at the past, present and future of Glen Innes. There were four other people that I worked with who are, Lakai, Natalia, Huntah and Daniel. Our model was about the transport of Glen Innes. I did enjoy making this as well as colouring it in.
